Three weeks after shocking the country by announcing that she planned to resign from her position as Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin kept her word. On July 26, 2009, she stood before a crowd in Fairbanks, Alaska and ceremoniously handed the title over to Sean Parnell, Alaska's former Lieutenant Governor under Palin.
